Archbishop's Office Publishing Department Registrar & Records Courthouse

In addition to all standard clerical functions the Archbishop’s Office of the Archdiocese of Mount Lebanon looks after several important duties such as:

Editing Raiati
(weekly church bulletin, distributed door-to-door all over the Archdiocese)
Raiati first appeared in 1982 and was amended starting from 1992. The “Shepherd’s Word”—a weekly column written by metropolitan George and addressed to his “flock" constitutes the opening page. The Gospel & Epistle teachings are then laid down accompanied with a selection of simplified patristic commentaries. Another popular section consecrated for the life of the saints and/or special feasts and other historical commemorations follows. And finally a news section that brings the latest updates of the church life and mission nationally and worldwide to the orthodox reader in Mount Lebanon.
The Archbishop’s Office brings together a special team of dedicated priests and laity that work closely in preparing and editing the rich yet simple theological and social content of Raiati.

Archbishop’s Writings:
In addition to his weekly devotion to several rubrics, newspaper, lectures and reviews, metropolitan George’s writings can be categorized among the richest in volume and quality among the best intellectuals and theologians of the Middle East today.
The Office's involvement includes, assistance in researching necessary materials, typing, publishing and archiving…

Organizational Role
The Office plays a good part in organizing the Monthly Priest’s Convention that the metropolitan holds as one of the major points of his priorities—being close to the needs and aspirations of his priests—in order to “keeping the word of truth”.
Metropolitan George, being very close and accessible to his congregation keeps an "open door" policy and insists on personally giving his own appointments, making his pastoral visits, arranging his lectures & conferences, etc… The Archbishop's Office finds itself in a somehow "odd" situation on this matter (!) because it is being constantly updated by the metropolitan and only plays a supporting role in arranging the remaining details

Archbishop’s Personal Library
Over the years the metropolitan’ library have grown to incorporate a tremendous amount of valuable volumes, in addition to pre-existing books and ancient manuscripts, the archbishop’s library today rivals many national library’s in the variety, specialty, and wide range selection of its professional content.
Although personal, the archbishop's library was always open to the archdiocese' priests, students & researchers...
